This is a fun low key pick up event that Scott Schoeb puts together from his front yard (its a good time). Cost is free for RASAC members or $4.00 to general public. Just show up on race day to register. To become a RASAC member for the remainder of the year the cost is only 15.00!

We will swim in the Bush River as far as you would like to go – the water temp is around 60 degrees so a wetsuit and water shoes are both strongly encouraged.
7:00 PM @ Contes – We will conduct a clinic to learn and practice the basics to repair minor issues to your bicycle on the side of the road. We will also discuss safety, equipment, and techniques to help keep you moving along on your rides whether you are solo or in a group.
Afterwords we will have the opportunity to check out the new team apparel, try it on, and purchase items at a deeper discount.

The Columbia Half / Full Triathlon (70 miles)

This is a 1/2 Ironman Race (.9 swim – compared to the 1.2 mile typical length)
The Conte’s Multisport Club will be involved from several aspects of the event:
- Individual event participants
- Relay team participants (all male, all female, mixed)
- volunteer race support (sag wagon, tech support, course volunteers)

Sprint Distance Triathlon – 1/2 mile swim, 13 mile bike ride*, 3.1 mile run
Location: Hammerman Area of Gunpowder State Park (7200 Graces Quarters, Chase, MD 21027)
Time: First Wave @ 8:00 am
A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Department of Natural Resources (specifically Gunpowder State Park)

Swim Course – Wetsuits will most likely be permissible on race day; however the temperature should not uncomfortable to race without it.
Swim start will be in the Gunpowder River starting knee deep and go the full length of the jetties before returning to the sandy beach and entering transition.
The bike route will incorporate the scenic Chase area outside of the park – the course is basically flat with a couple of short rolling climbs. There will NOT be police presence on the course so all traffic signs must be obeyed! Almost all turns are right handed and there are no traffic signals on the course. The only left hand turns are at or near the dead ends of the proceeding streets. There should be limited traffic interference; however extra caution must be taken while riding the course!
To finish with a 5k run inside the park which will include grass fields, asphalt roads and parking lots and a couple of short wooded trails
Awards:
Top 3 overall male and female as well as in each age group as follows
19 and under, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60+
Amenities:
Each participant will receive a T-Shirt, there will be water at the mid point of the run course, course marshals will direct racers at all major turns, refreshments will be available post race, and random prize giveaways from the event sponsors

- Thursday, September 23 from 4-8 pm at Conte’s Bicycles and Fitness
- Friday, September 24 from 4-8 pm at Conte’s Bicycles and Fitness
- Saturday, September 25 from 6:30 am -7:30 am at the registration pavilion
Due to time constraints on race day, we HIGHLY ENCOURAGE participants to pick up packets on Thursday or Friday.

To tie in with the TNT / RASAC workouts – there are already runners at all ability levels on the track so this modification should prove to be perfect for anyone to find a group to work out with!
Meet at The Churchville Rec Center @ 6:30 (wheels rolling at 6:45 sharp):
We will ride outside for approximately an hour (distances will vary based on ability level) starting at 6:45 PM unless the weather is in-climate for maintaining a safe ride.

This event is LOW KEY & FUN (great training race). Roads will not be closed to motorists so all traffic signals and laws must be obeyed! If you hit a red light it’s just tough luck.

.5 mile swim in 4′ deep water (In the Bush River)
15 mile bike ride (From Daun’s house to the Rite Aid Distribution Plant)
5k run (on neighborhood roads)
Location:Daun Sigafoose House on the Bush River
- From I95 go South on Rte 24
- Take the Left exit to Rte 40
- Turn Left onto Rte 40 at the light
- Turn Right onto Long Bar Harbor (7 – eleven at the light)
- Make 2nd Right onto Washington
- Park near the end of Washington – Parking at Daun’s will impeade racers.
- To get to Daun’s continue to the end of Washington and turn left
- His gravel driveway is straight ahead and begins aprox. 100 feet from Washington.

The Fallston Duathlon is an annual race dedicated to promoting the increase of local multisport events. Annie’s Playground & the surrounding Fallston area supply 17 miles of rolling hills that are both scenic and challenging for riders with a spectator friendly start, transition, and finish. Out and back 5k runs on the recently completed Ma & Pa trail curve through fields and wooded areas, while remaining on a combination asphalt/wood/cinder trail. Hosted by Conte’s Bicycles & Fitness as well as numerous first class sponsors, the Fallston Duathlon is a fun, affordable, family oriented event.

Pre – Event Information:
Packet Pick- Up
- Saturday, May 1, 2010: At Conte’s Bicycles and Fitness of Bel Air MD from 10:00 AM until 4:30 PM
- Race Day: Starting at 6:00 AM @ the Annie’s playground pavilion
Race Day Instructions:
- Waiver – All participants will have to sign an official USA Triathlon waiver on race day before receiving their timing chip.
- Timing Chip – All participants will be given a timing chip to be worn on one ankle. Each athlete is responsible for returning their timing chip to a designated Charm City Run staff member after completion of the race or a charge of $50.00 will be assessed for a replacement.
Transition Area:
- The transition area will have two entrance/exits with race staff present to restrict access to race participants with a bib number and body marking.
- Bike racks will be numbered corresponding to each competitor designating the only area that should be occupied by a participant and all of their belongings – please be courteous to other racers.
- Post race bicycle retrieval will be by participants only
Strictly Enforced Safety Rules:
- Bicycle safety inspections will not be mandatory, but are strongly advised (they will be available for free at packet pickup and on location race day before 7:15AM
- Helmets must be securely fastened to the riders head from the time before mounting the bicycle until after dismount!
- Drafting while cycling will not be allowed and there will be marshals at random points on the course to ensure safe, timely passes (check the current USA Triathlon rules for an explanation on drafting)
Awards:
Top 3 overall male and female finishers will receive custom awards.
The top relay teams in the following categories will receive medals:
All-male team, all-female team, co-ed team
Top 3 male and female participants in the following age groups will receive medals:
19 and under, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, & 65 and up
Amenities:
- T-Shirts to all participants
- Water at the halfway point on the run course (both legs)
- Police and volunteers throughout bicycle course
- Various vendors set up in the sponsor area
- Post-race refreshments
